BOARD OF EXAMINERS

The Board of Examiners (BE) – is responsible for controlling assessment methods, assessment criteria and the student assessment system within the College.

The BE consists of:

  • The leader of the BE – Prof. assoc. Fahri Gavazaj
  • Three local teachers – Prof. ass. Fitim Skeraj, Prof. assoc. Agim Krasniqi, and Prof. ass. Vildane Goga
  • Three foreign teachers – Prof. assoc. Nuhi Arsllani, Acad.Prof.dr. Gudar Beqiraj, Prof. dr. Ender Kazazoglu.
  • Administrative officer: Rrezarta Sadikaj

Duties of the Board of Examinations:

  1. to compile and control the examination map;
  2. to check evaluation methods, evaluation criteria and the evaluation system;
  3. to check the reliability and validity of tests or certain questions in the test based on the request of the Dean, vice-deans, heads of departments, teachers, tutors or students;
  4. deals with data analysis related to examinations;
  5. accepts statistical reports of success for each subject;
  6. organizes the final exam;
  7. compiles the catalog of the content of the final exams in cooperation with the leaders of the teaching boards for which subjects the exam is organized.

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation of the student’s academic preparation is based on the principle of continuous supervision throughout the teaching period of the results in all elements of supervision and evaluation of the student’s knowledge.

The participation of continuous assessment elements during the academic year is as follows:

Course attendance and active participation = 5-10%

Completion of tasks (assignment, course tasks) = 10-20%

Midterm Grades = 10-30%

Projects, seminars, presentations, etc. = 10-20%

Practical exam = 10-30%

Final exam = 30-70%

The college uses the electronic system of answers and testing (through the management of tests with the Moodle platform), with the responsibility of the system of the bank of questions worked by the teachers of the subjects, with alternate choices of the questions in the test and automatic correction from the platform, which reduce the possibility of abuse in assessment. For professional subjects, evaluations can also be done orally.

In order to increase the transparency of the evaluation, each lecturer submits together with the report the continuous evaluation format for each student regarding attendance and activation, the quality of the course assignments (essays) and partial semester exams (tests).

The pass threshold is determined according to the system:

61-70 7 D Kënaqshëm – mirë, por me mjaft gabime
50-60 6 E Mjafton – rezultatet plotësojnë kriteret minimale
<50 5 F Dobët – kërkohet shumë punë për të fituar kreditë

 

OSCE and OSLER exams are evaluated according to this evaluation scale:
